Interfaith Susquehanna County Christmas Bureau

The Christmas Bureau program is a county wide event held at the Montrose Bible Conference each year.  This community event  reaches out and gets everyone involved.  Many organizations,  churches, youth clubs and individuals are needed to make this holiday program successful.  Interfaith starts in October qualifying the clients who will be served,  making sure no one is missed and there are no duplications.  Then many hours are spent organizing and preparing the volunteers for the "Giveaway Day".
The volunteers are being prepared to handle the many aspects of this event, with the Captains overseeing in areas of food,  new toys, used toys, gifts for the elderly shut ins, Salvation Army bell ringing, and traffic control.  The Captains then organize and hand out all the requested toys and needed food for the event.
The Salvation Army Bell Ringers raise money in the red kettles throughout the holidays.  Of the funding raised, 90% is kept within Susquehanna County for programs and assistance, throughout the year.  Interfaith serves as the Salvation Army Service Unit for Susquehanna County.
This year we are served over 615 households.  What a blessing to see so many families able to celebrate the holidays with bountiful food and gifts.
